Rotate PDF turns the pages of a PDF by 90, 180 or 270 degrees, either all of them or only the pages you list, right in your browser. It fixes the scan that came out sideways, the landscape table that reads the wrong way, or the single upside down page in a long document. The text, pictures and fonts are not redrawn; only the direction each page is shown in changes.
How to use
- Drop one PDF on the box, or click it to choose it. Its page count appears under the box.
- Under Turn, pick 90° clockwise, 180°, or 90° counterclockwise.
- Under Pages, keep All pages, or pick Only the pages I choose and type them, such as 1, 3-4, or 7- for page 7 to the end.
- Press Rotate, then Download the corrected file.
Examples
A test PDF called scan.pdf with 5 upright pages, turned 90° clockwise on pages 2, 4-5, downloads as scan-rotated.pdf in which pages 2, 4 and 5 are turned a quarter turn to the right and pages 1 and 3 are unchanged. The result says 3 pages turned. A page that was already turned keeps its earlier turn and adds the new one, so 90° twice makes it upside down.
Limits
One PDF at a time, up to 50 MB, as Quick facts shows. Page numbers that the PDF does not have are refused with its real page count. Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened, so they are refused with a note, and damaged files are refused too. Only quarter turns are possible; a page that is slightly crooked from a scanner stays crooked. Phones have less memory than computers, so a large PDF may fail on a phone before this limit.
FAQ
Is the PDF uploaded when I rotate it?
No. A background worker in your browser opens the PDF and changes the turn of each page. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Will rotating make my PDF blurry?
No. The pages are not redrawn. The file only stores a new direction for each page, so text stays sharp and searchable.
Which way is clockwise?
Clockwise turns the top of the page to the right, the way the hands of a clock move. Pick 90° counterclockwise to turn the top to the left.
