Photo and Signature Resizer makes a JPG of the exact width, height and maximum KB that an exam or application form asks for, right in your browser. Online forms often refuse a photo or a scanned signature that is a few pixels or a few KB off. Type the numbers from the form, and the tool finds the best JPG quality that fits them, or tells you plainly when the numbers cannot be met.
How to use
- Drop your photo or signature on the box, or click it to choose one. JPG, PNG and WebP are taken.
- Type the width and height in pixels, and the maximum size in KB, exactly as the form states them.
- Choose what happens when the shape differs. Crop to fill cuts the edges so the picture fills the frame; Fit inside keeps the whole picture and adds white bands.
- Press Make the file. The result shows its pixels and its size in KB and bytes; press Download to save it.
Examples
A test picture of 1,200 by 800 pixels, set to 200 by 230 pixels with a maximum of 20 KB and Crop to fill, gives a JPG of exactly 200 by 230 pixels marked Under 20 KB. The exact byte count differs a little between browsers, because each has its own JPG encoder. With a width and height of 4,000 pixels and a maximum of 1 KB, the tool makes no file and says how small it could get instead.
Limits
One picture at a time, up to 25 MB, as Quick facts shows, with at most 50 megapixels. Width and height can be 1 to 4,000 pixels and the maximum 1 to 5,000 KB. The result is always a JPG on a white background, so a transparent signature gets white paper. A KB here means 1,000 bytes, so the file is also under the limit if the form counts 1,024 bytes. The tool does not make a file larger to reach a minimum size, and it cannot check other form rules such as the background colour or the face position. Phones have less memory than computers, so a very large picture may fail on a phone before these limits.
FAQ
What happens if my numbers cannot be met?
The tool makes no file. It tells you the smallest size it reached at those pixels, so you can allow more KB or choose fewer pixels. It never hands you a file that breaks the limit.
Is my photo or signature uploaded?
No. A background worker on this page draws the picture and writes the JPG. Nothing leaves your device, which matters for identity photos and signatures.
Will the result pass my form?
It will match the pixels and stay under the KB you typed. Forms can have other rules, such as a plain background, a recent photo or ink colour, so read the form instructions too.
