Sign PDF places a picture of your signature, drawn, typed or uploaded, on a page of a PDF in your browser. It suits everyday paperwork such as a lease form, a school permission slip or a timesheet that asks for a signature on the page. Pick the page, a corner or the centre, and a size, then download the signed copy. It is a visual signature only, not a certificate-based digital signature.
How to use
- Drop the PDF on the box, or click it to choose it. Its page count appears, and the page box starts at the last page.
- Under Your signature, choose Draw it and sign on the white sheet with a mouse, finger or pen; or Type it and enter your name; or Upload a picture of your signature as PNG or JPG.
- Type the page number, and choose the Place and the Size. The signature keeps half an inch from the edges of the page.
- Press Add signature, then Download the signed PDF and open it to check the position.
Examples
A test PDF called contract.pdf with 2 pages, signed with the typed name Alex Doe at Bottom right and Medium size, downloads as contract-signed.pdf. The second page now carries the name in a slanted style, 30% of the page width across, in its bottom right corner, and the first page is unchanged. Notice that the page box offered page 2 first, because signatures usually go on the last page.
Limits
One PDF at a time, up to 50 MB, as Quick facts shows; an uploaded signature picture may be up to 5 MB. The result is a visual signature only: it does not prove who signed, carries no certificate, and does not lock the file against later changes, so it cannot replace a qualified electronic signature where the law asks for one. There is no live preview of the page, so open the download to check the position. Password-protected PDFs are refused with a note. A photo of a signature on paper keeps its paper background. Phones have less memory than computers, so a large PDF may fail on a phone before this limit.
FAQ
Is this a legally binding digital signature?
No. It adds a picture of a signature, like signing a printout and scanning it. A certificate-based digital signature also proves the identity of the signer and seals the file, which this tool does not do. Ask the person who sent the document what kind of signature they accept.
Is my signature or my PDF uploaded?
No. Your browser draws the signature on this page, and a background worker writes it into the PDF. Neither the document nor the signature is sent to a server or kept after you leave.
Can I sign without a mouse or touch screen?
Yes. Choose Type it and enter your name with the keyboard, or choose Upload a picture of a signature you scanned earlier.
